New game: PaintGlyph, a rolling paint maze
PaintGlyph is the newest room in the GlyphVerse: a paint studio. A pearl ball sits on a grid of slate tiles between cream walls. Swipe, and it rolls in that direction until it hits a wall, painting every tile it crosses. Paint every tile on the board to finish the level.
The catch is that the ball can't stop halfway. It always runs to the next wall, so some tiles can only be reached from one direction, and the order you take matters. Early levels take a few seconds; the expert ones make you plan.
Every level is solvable
The levels are made by rolling a ball. Starting from one tile, the generator picks a direction and carves a corridor, and the tile just past its end is reserved as a wall forever, so the ball will always stop there. Because those walls are never carved later, every earlier roll still stops exactly where it did, and the carving itself is a route that paints the whole board. Each of the 200 levels was then solved and its solution replayed before it shipped.
Undo, hints, stars and a daily canvas
- Undo is unlimited. If you have painted yourself into a corner, the hint says how many rolls to undo.
- One hint per level lights up your next three rolls with numbered arrows.
- Stars come from finishing in par or fewer rolls. Your levels, stars and the board you were on are saved.
- A daily canvas, the same for everyone, with a streak and a shareable result.
